Some of the Most Important Musicians of All Time: Stevie Ray Vaughn

A name forever engraved in blues rock history

To understand Stevie Ray Vaughn is to understand the essence of Blues Rock and how he invigorated it near the end of the twentieth century. Stevie brought life back into to the blues scene when it was started to taper off in the midst of a new musical revolution during the 80’s. Stevie kept the music pure by making it come alive through the heartfelt strums and echoes of his unorthodox guitar style. Hits like “Texas Flood”, “Lenny”, and “Tightrope” all have a powerful bluesy kick that are each amplified by Stevie’s musical prowess. It is evident to see some of his inspirations are among the likes of B.B. King, Eric Clapton, and Buddy Guy. However, his guitar solos seem to come from another world. His distinct style is so recognizable that it is nearly impossible to recreate. Stevie will always be remembered for his amazing accomplishments within the blues industry and the precedent he established for soulful music.
